Day 1

Your guide and driver will meet you at the Paro airport and drive to Thimphu.

Afternoon – visit to memorial chorten, tallest statue of Buddha, Takin preserve center and Sangaygang view point.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

 

Day 2

Afer Breakfast, visit to National Postal Museum, Craft Bazaar, Textile Museum and School of 13 Arts and Crafts and Simply Bhutan museum

After lunch Visit Tashichho dzong.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

 

Day 3

Drive to Punakha

Distance: 63Km Driving |Time: 1 and half hour

Places and Attractions:

  • Punakha Dochula Pass
  • Punakha Dzong ,The Palace of Great Bliss
  • Punakha Suspension Bridge

  • After breakfast drive to Punakha, on the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (10334 ft.) to view the higher Himalayas. The pass is approximately 25 kms away from Thimphu and is the highest point between the Thimphu and Punakha/Wangdue Valley. Another attraction is the 108 chorten/stupas (Druk Wangyel Chortens) built close to each other surrounded by numerous colorful prayer flags. On arrival at Punakha, check in at the hotel. Afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong – built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952. After that take a short and easy hike to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang – The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “The Devine Mad Man”. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Punakha.

Day 4

Drive from Punakha to Phobjikha

Distance: 78 Km Driving Time: 3 and half hours

A 16th-century Gangtey Goemba (monastery) sits atop a hill overlooking the valley. The complex consists of monks’ quarters, guesthouses, and meditation centres.

There are nature trails that run along the field and through the pine forest connecting small villages.

It’s one of those destinations where you just want to clear your schedule and go with the flow.

Day 5

Drive from Phobjikha to Paro

Distance: 185 Km Driving Time: 7 hours

It will be a long drive back to Paro.

In the evening, it’s worth taking a stroll along the oldest street in Paro town. The street is lined with traditional houses renovated with western-inspired storefronts running cafes and souvenir shops.

Day 6

After breakfast, drive to the base of the abode of gods and monks, the Taktshang

Monastery. The monastery is a 2 -3 hours hike uphill from here. One feels truly blessed reaching the monastery. The primary Lhakhang was built surrounding Guru Rinpoche’s Meditation cave in 1684 which clings to the edge of a sheer Rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress which gives its name “Taktshang” meaning Tiger’s nest. Afternoon (If time permits), visit the Drukgyel Dzong. Built in 1647, the dzong was destroyed by accidental fire and left in ruins as an evocative reminder of the great victories it was built to commemorate. Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 7

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Paro Airport for your onward journey.

NOTE:

  1. Itinerary might be re-arranged as per hotel availability at the time of booking.

Payment Policy:

  • You will be subjected to 20% payment as advance of the package amount on booking date as a confirmation of booking if you are booking 60 days before your arrival date.
  • Before 30 days of arrival, you will be subjected to 100% payment of the package amount.
  • Failing to pay an advance payment shall lead to release of your bookings.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Free cancellations can be made 45 days before arrival date.
  • 20% of package amount will be charged if cancellations are made 30days before arrival. date.
  • 50% of package amount will be charged if cancellations are made 15 days before arrival date.
  • 100 % of package amount will be charged if cancellations are made 10 days or less before arrival date.
